EVENT  »   Annual churches cycle ride
10:00 am -  The annual "Ride and Stride" event involves sponsored people cycling or walking between churches, thus combining the pleasure of appreciating these old buildings with the raising of money for their upkeep and improvement.

The annual churches cycle ride takes place on 10th September this year.  I am planning to cycle a route around local churches starting from Marsh Baldon Church at c.10.00am.  I would welcome company and will be very happy to structure a route (or routes) to accommodate a mix of cycling types and abilities, including families, with the idea to meet up for lunch at a pub somewhere in the middle. Please let me know if you would like to join.

Please do spread the word: Cyclists and/or sponsors are equally welcome.

On the subject of sponsorship, I have set up an on-line page that you can access via the following link:

https://app.investmycommunity.com/campaign-page/ohct-2022

Please do think about making a donation in this way or, if you prefer, you can sponsor per church in the old fashioned way (which provides incentive to go further) via the paper form. Just let me know by e mail if you would like to do this and I will set it up.

Any questions then do let me know...and yes, it is the same weekend as Oxford Open Doors, so the Dance family is a bit conflicted as usual!.

PS For those that do not know about the ride:  Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust is a charity dedicated to the upkeep and renewal of church buildings across the county.  It gives grants for repairs, maintenance and upgrading of facilities and has made substantial impact in the ongoing use of many rural and urban churches.  The annual "Ride and Stride" event involves sponsored people cycling or walking between churches, thus combining the pleasure of appreciating these old buildings with the raising of money for their upkeep and improvement.  50% of the funds raised go direct to the local church - in this case the churches of St Lawrence and St Peter - and 50% to the central pot. Our Churches are key assets in our community, so whether you just like looking at the buildings or are a regular attender, or somewhere in between do please think about lending your support if you can.
